A lecture by Valentina Santini
Tutankhamun is considered by everyone as a legend. From the discovery of his tomb, which took place exactly a century ago in 1922, this young pharaoh has become a true myth, but who was in reality Tutankhamun? Can the objects belonging to his funerary equipment give us some hints concerning his life? Looking at the items found in his tomb, is it possible to portrait the boy, rather than the mythological figure?
The lecture aims at shedding light on one of the most iconic pharaohs of all times, trying to delineate the young sovereign from a different perspective, highlighting his “human traits”.
